The instrument arrived in our shop with serious neck issues, loose interior braces and missing parts. The guitar appeared to suffer from decades of neglect; the top finish was marred and scratched, and most of the inlays were worn through due to previous attempts to correct fretboard warpage. After re-gluing the bracing and loose linings on the interior of the instrument, the neck and fretboard were restored, and exact replicas of the original Inlays were fabricated from mother of pearl. The neck was then re-fretted, and an Ivory nut was fashioned. We were able to provide period correct parts, and a new bound pickguard was made from Cellulose Nitrate. Finish damage was repaired, and the entire instrument was polished to a mirror gloss before returning it to the owner.
